OneLicense.net
is an exciting new endeavor—committed to making it easy for
churches to obtain reprint permission, and easy for both churches
and music publishers to record all usage for a totally equitable
distribution of royalties to composers and authors.
OneLicense.net includes many
significant publishers of hymn texts, hymn tunes, and songs for
worship that are not currently represented by any other joint licensing
entity. Through OneLicense.net,
churches and religious institutions are able to reproduce words
and/or music for the congregation from the catalogs of all of the
partnering publishing houses, for one annual fee. Similarly, organizations
who have daily devotions or worship as part of their annual conventions
or conferences, can clear all the copyrights they need with a single
event license.
Our website then allows the user to report all reprints online,
assuring an accurate accounting for the payment of royalties. As
members of the church it is good to know that the OneLicense.net
sophisticated reporting system guarantees that every one of the
church’s valued composers and text writers will be compensated
on an actual use basis, rather than a mere sampling. This computerized
database system makes it easy for customers to adhere to the copyright
laws, while enabling publishers to record royalties owed to composers
and authors with 100% accuracy.
In simple terms:
- It’s easy for the churches.
- It’s easy for the publishers.
- Composers and authors are guaranteed fair payment for the use of their intellectual property.
